Fandom: Guardian (TV)
General notes:
1. I liked Guardian's ending! I am happy to see works that engage with it or consider what would happen post-canon in a canon-compliant manner. However, I am also completely fine with fix-its and canon-divergence and whatever other ways of averting the canon ending makes you happiest as a writer; I love the wild variety of ways people take things. :)
2. I do like weilan as a ship; I’m not asking specifically for it because it's so common and I am incurably here for rarepairs and team-centric gen. <3 Feel free to include weilan anyway, though!

Chu Shuzhi/Ye Huo
My favorite rarepair! I mostly am interested in them post-canon, because the way they're positioned to help rebuild after everything went down is super interesting. I think that they've got a lot of similarities in how they can approach the world (protective, combative, honestly quite sweet under the gruff/macho exterior) and I think that they both have an incredible amount of potential as mentors for young/disadvantaged people.

I would love something about them working together, whether that's on a case for the SID or on a personal project like rebuilding Yehuo's fighting gym. I think they're great for slow-burn and the kind of romance where you just sort of fall into a Thing without quite naming it, and then when someone else names it you're like "...oh shit, I guess you're right?" and the like. I think they'd be really interesting to see as roommates going about their lives and supporting each other.

Chu Shuzhi /& Shen Wei
I love Chu Shuzhi's relationship with Shen Wei/the Envoy! It's so complicated and mostly just gestured at in the show!

In many ways I'm more interested in the Envoy side of this than the Shen Wei side, because I'm just so very here for loyalty kink. Pre-canon stories about what Chu Shuzhi's relationship with the Envoy was (how/why the Envoy found him to so dramatically rescue him from prison, how/why CSZ was the one sent to the SID, what meetings between them were like, etc.) would be absolutely fantastic to me!

I'd also love something about CSZ's feelings about the reveal. How does he take it? How does it change things? (How doesn't it change things?)

I'm deeply fond of the idea of CSZ doing bondage things with his strings. I'm interested by that in both a non-sexual kink way and here for it if you want to go a more sexual route.

Ya Qing /& Ying Chun
Friends to enemies to friends with lovers sandwiched in and around all those things...? They just have so much history, and so much potential chemistry, and I'd love to know how their relationships have evolved over all the time they've known each other.

Ya Qing/Zhu Hong
Mostly post-canon, once Zhu Hong is the Yashou leader! :D Ya Qing's begrudging respect for Zhu Hong is very fun, and I think they'd clash and work together in really interesting ways. It's enemies to allies to friends to lovers, pretty much, and if you wanted to move lovers elsewhere that's cool too. :)

Special Investigation Division | SID Ensemble
I adore the whole group together! This is my casefic and shenanigans request, where I honestly just want anything that focuses on the team as a whole and the family atmosphere they have.

Pre-canon cases, unseen during-canon cases, post-canon cases—anything you'd like! Or stories about them integrating together; movie nights, food eaten together at 1am because that's when the case finished, dares and bets and in-jokes they have. Show me the team working together to clean up the SID and finding souveniers of old cases! Maybe a Rashoman story, where they all tell their own takes on one case/event? That'd be incredibly fun.

Shen Wei & Ye Zun
I'm sure Shen Wei's tried to talk to Ye Zun about all the shit that went down before. How did that go? How did that fail?
Ye Zun's obsessed with Shen Wei, and he channels all of that into loathing. What would reconciliation look like?

Chu Shuzhi
He is my favorite, and I love him, and I would love more about his pre-canon life! What was his childhood like? We're given occasional mentions that he's from a puppetmaster line; did all his family have similar powers? How did he learn his powers? Did he ang Chu Nianzhi trick people a lot? What were they planning on doing before Nianzhi died? What was prison like for Chu Shuzhi? What was it like, later, adapting to Haixing life?

Shen Wei
I'd love something about YOHE!Shen Wei becoming the Black-Cloaked Envoy! That sounds very interesting! Or more about what it was like to be unburied and wake up and see what Dixing is. How did he adapt? What role was he thrust into, and how much did he like it?

Or Shen Wei finding a place in Haixing! How did he get his degree? Why did he pick the field he did? How did he end up teaching? What are his favorite parts of being in Haixing? How often does he go between Dixing and Haixing?

Ye Huo
Literally anything about him! How did he end up in Haixing? What resulted in his scar? Why does he wear that mask? Why did he end up in an underground fighting ring, of all places? What does he do post-canon?

Worldbuilding and/or Meta: Dixingren Powers
Any headcanons about how they work! Are they lineage-related? What powers them? Who gets them, and how are they awakened? Are some kinds of powers more common than others?

Worldbuilding and/or Meta: The Hallows
Very weird objects. Please tell me about how you think they work, and why they react to some people but not others, and how/why they were created to begin with. Or show me people doing research on them and trying to figure out that kind of stuff!

Worldbuilding and/or Meta: Ye Olde Haixing Era
Very cool era! I'd love to know more about the politics of this era and how/why the whole war started! Or about how Dixing and Haixing split off from each other. I dunno! Anything about Dixingren and Yashou and Haixingren figuring out how to live with each other/adapt to the other groups being around…

PART TWO

Fandom: Detective L
General Prompts
- MORE CASEFIC! :D I love casefic and mysteries a lot! I am happy to see them in as much (or as little) detail as you're willing to write them!
- What do you think s2 would've been like? Please tell me what you think happens after the end of the show. I have many questions and no answers and am happy to hear your take on them.

Huo Wensi
- I love Huo Wensi. I loved him from his first introduction, when he was clever and competent and a match for Luo Fei, and I kept loving him all the way through the reveal of his true role. He's at his most beautiful when the violence and cruelty he conceals comes out to play.
- I love how smart he is, and how patient he is, and how good he is at seeming like a normal charming member of society.
- What are his plans? What is he doing? Why is he doing any of this? We get basically no answers about this in canon, beyond him also investigating Captain, but I’d love your theories!
- Especially the prison stuff! How did he come to this conclusion? What was it like for him in prison? How did he accomplish his goals in prison? Did he have any escape plans? Did he have any communication outside of the prison? Just, there's a lot left unexplored there, and I'm fascinated about all of it.
- How did he set up the explosives on the bridge? Did he get someone else to do it? How pre-planned was that whole thing, and what did he expect to happen?
- What’s he doing post-canon?

Huo Wensi + Luo Fei
(romantic, platonic, whatever—so long as they’re having emotions about each other, I’m here for it!)
- I have yet to figure out how to articulate my feelings about the tangle of obsession that binds these two together. Love and frustration and desire and respect all blended up; they can't let go of each other but that doesn't mean they necessarily like each other.
- I fully believe that they had a pre-canon relationship and an extremely messy break-up. I do not know anything beyond that. Please tell me anything you'd like about this.
- How did they meet for the first time? Was it on a case, or something else?
- How many cases did they solve together before things broke bad?
- They both have a Captain obsession, in their own ways; did they enable each other in this?
- I love how smart they both are, and how well they know each other.
- I would like them to tear each other apart (verbally, physically) but not be able to meaningfully harm each other because they need each other too much (to solve a case, for personal reasons)
- Post-canon cat-and-mouse as they chase each other around the city
- Post-canon team-up for any reason where they're exceptionally petty about it (bonus points if this team-up is accomplished by Huo Wensi letting Luo Fei catch him so that they can have a Conversation)
- My original moderately incoherent prompt I gave for rarepairs is also still true: "They are both very smart. I love them working together. I love casefic. I love seeing the specific weird trust Luo Fei has in Huo Wensi's abilities. I want to know more about WTF Huo Wensi is planning at any given point in time. I want them to have inadvisable sex and/or fake-date as part of cover for a case. I want them interacting and I don't know if I care if it's as rivals or as friends or what the emotion is so long as they're having Feelings at each other and maybe kissing about it (or pointedly not kissing about it)."

Ben Jieming & Luo Fei & Qin Xiaoman
- I love them! They're like siblings! It's so nice!
- Casefic, obviously, is great for them
- I'd love something in the time that got skipped over in the last arc: What was it like to have Wei Feng introduced into this dynamic? What do they think of him?
- I also love them just hanging out and being friends! Teasing each other, leaning on each other, playing games and making bets... anything like that is super fun!
- We don't see much of how Qin Xiaoman and Benjamin really become friends, and I'd especially love to see more of that. Quiet times in the morgue, mutual worrying over Luo Fei, other shared hobbies...?
- I'd have a lot of fun reading about any of them being forced to Take A Break for a while. Have a vacation. Something like that. (It probably wouldn't work, but I enjoy that kind of interaction!)

Fandom: Detective L/DMBJ Crossover
(probably mostly 老九门 | Old Nine Gates, due to that being the one set in the same time period as Detective L, but feel free to draw inspiration from any of the shows/lore)

I’d love to see something where Huo Wensi is a member of the Huo family of the Mystic Nine. How does that affect his business? Is that why he’s scheming the way he is? Does he get pulled into Mystic Nine politics and/or tomb nonsense?

Or something where Luo Fei gets called in to work a case that turns out to be about a Tomb Nonsense Item being stolen! I think it’d be interesting seeing Luo Fei deal with the minor supernatural shenanigans that show up all throughout DMBJ; he, like most Holmesian characters, works best when he understands the rules and limitations of the world that supernatural stuff sets aside.

I have no further prompts, just a lot of curiosity about what this might look like, and how tomb bullshit would integrate into Detective L’s much more mundane world.

Fandom: The Rebel
I love this show and how clever and competent people are, and how many things could be different if someone trusted a little more or a little less at any given point in time.

Meta is extremely welcome here! So are picspams/gifsets of extremely emotional moments! Or vids exploring any of these relationships! This is a small fandom and I’ll just be delighted to see your take on my prompts! <3

When I’m writing prompts with multiple characters, I’m generally open to any relationship interpretation that makes sense: &, /, rivals, etc. There are a few exceptions where I’ll ask for a specific kind of relationship by marking it in the section title, but otherwise I just want fic engaging with both of them, or their thoughts about each other, or otherwise focusing on the interplay between them. The specific type of relationship is immaterial, because these people rarely have simple emotions anyway.

Lin Nansheng + Chen Moqun
Ship them, mentorship them, write them as antagonists and foils… They spend the whole show circling each other, and I love every bit of it. Master/puppy, intense devotion, the inability to ever actually shoot each other no matter how many times they point guns at each other’s faces…

I don’t know that I have a coherent prompt for these two. I just want MORE, you know?

Lin Nansheng & Lan Xinjie
I love their platonic/intense-and-complicated-friendship relationship.

Among other things, Lan Xinjie deserved better. I’d love something about their life together, after they end up married for convenience. He teaches her to shoot. They play roles. They mostly leave each other alone, though, I get the impression. What’s that all like? What would it be like if they had a happier ending, where her son didn’t die but they ended up marrying to keep society from being shitty to them regardless?

Lin Nansheng + Zhu Yizhen
I love their pining and the quiet moments of Spy Romance they get. I don’t know if they’d be happy together. I hope they could be happy together. I wish they’d gotten a chance to find out.

Early-days relationship stuff is lovely, and I honestly would’ve enjoyed more about Lin Nansheng’s double life when he’s Xu Liwen. Does he ever want to stay in that identity? What would the next steps of his entry into communism have been like, if the situation had allowed him to continue progressing?

Later, each time they meet again, there’s this mutual desire and memory binding them together, but which they never get to act upon. What if they did? What would change? How could they justify that to themselves and each other, when their truest loves are Duty and Patriotism?

Lin Nansheng + Zuo Qiming
Military academy boyfriends! I’d love something about their friendship during the Nice Simple Days before they got recruited for Spy Shenanigans.

They didn’t quite get to be double-agents together, but what if they did? I’d love more about the period of time where Lin Nansheng is slowly falling for communism and Zuo Qiming is quietly not-exactly-recruiting him.

Lin Nansheng & Ji Zhongyuan
Lao-Ji had his eye on Lin Nansheng from the beginning. As mentioned in the LNS+ZYZ section, I’d be absolutely fascinated by an AU where Lin Nansheng joined the communists earlier (as a spy/double agent for the nationalists) and how that would’ve affected things.

I also just really love every interaction they have once Lin Nansheng chooses to join the communists. I’d love more about their relationship, and the shadow of Gu Shenyan within it.

Lin Nansheng & Gu Shenyan
The complicated vibes of mentorship, suspicion, and comradeship! Everything they do is fascinating. I enjoy their relationship! I don’t have specific prompts; I just like how they interact and how intensely loyal Lin Nansheng becomes to Gu Shenyan by the end.

Ji Zhongyuan + Gu Shenyan
I ship these two old spy men (though I’m also happy to see them as friends) and I want everything about their history and relationship through the years. They’re both also much more dangerous than they pretend to be, and intensely intelligent and secretive.

Gu Shenyan + Chen Moqun
My favorite parts of their relationship are the complicated early bits where Chen Moqun is like “I must be suspicious of him but he’s been my friend for so long!” and Gu Shenyan sneaks around being genial and framing other people for work he absolutely did do.

I also like the way the show plays with loyalty to the country, since they’re both absolutely people who say they want the best for China but show it in different ways and prize different secondary elements. Chen Moqun will always choose survival. Gu Shenyan, offered a chance to survive, dies to give his cause a better chance.

Wang Shi’an + Chen Moqun
I love their relationship and how it’s always about power and who has control. They both want to be in control, and the periods of time when they’re struggling over it (and blackmailing each other) are absolutely fascinating. This is another one where I’m like “IDK, more?” because I think them attempting to gain the upper hand and using each other as tools is really fun to watch.

Chen Moqun
The slow breakdown of Chen Moqun through the show is glorious to see. I’d especially love more about his time with the Japanese, because he absolutely hated working for them but wanted to live too much to let himself die for his country. Something about his inner turmoil there would be great. (Is this solo request essentially: MAKE HIM SUFFER? maybe. a little bit. He can be in better positions during the requests that involve other people too…)

Meng An’nan
I would love to see more of Meng An’nan’s POV! His perspective on Being A Double Agent in general is fascinating and not something the show really has space for (since it’s about Lin Nansheng) but which I’d love to see a fanfic take on! Or a meta analysis of!
- Joining the communists to begin with
- His fake marriage with Zhu Yizhen
- Meetings with Chen Moqun
- The stretches of time when Chen Moqun couldn’t contact him and what he did
- Did he ever think about betraying Chen Moqun?
- He’s the dark mirror to Lin Nansheng (down to their relationships with Chen Moqun), succeeding where Lin Nansheng failed and failing where Lin Nansheng succeeded. Anything exploring that would be absolutely fantastic!

A Note Because I Looked It Up: He’s recruited by Chen Moqun in ep19 in a scene that lasts from ~5:00 until ~9:00. (Surprisingly close to the minute marks on both ends! Wild.)

His name was, at one point, Kuang Huidong. It was probably his real name, since Chen Moqun says he used it for 29 years (before he got fake-killed and sent to study in Berlin). He only studied at the military academy because Chen Moqun sponsored him. He disappears from the narrative for quite a while after this establishing scene. I’m absolutely fascinated by him.

(Me, quietly, as I write this section: Oh no I have an unexpected minor character fave now…)

Fandom: Zhu Yilong Gifsets/Vids
I just really love watching Zhu Yilong do martial arts and otherwise act in combat situations! I love how he looks when he does that! It’s great!

I am happy to see him either in a role (and don’t worry about spoilers) or just being himself! So long as he’s doing lovely athletic things, I’ll be happy. :)

Regarding Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan I‘m easy. I love both characters, maybe Shen Wei a tiny bit more and I ADORE BB Shen Wei from the past. I love all aspects of their relationship, the simmering romance, the yearning and questioning, the taking care of each other, the I‘ll fight for you, the disagreements, the reveal of the time travel and all the angst at the end provided you give me a happy ever after.

Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan have my entire heart. Of the team members, Zhu Hong, Lao Chu and Da Qing are my favorites, and I'm a big fan of Zhao Yunlan's relationship with Da Qing and the gorgeous fealty and trust between Shen Wei and Lao Chu. This show got me good with the hurt/comfort and angst, and I love all the tropes that come with that: hidden wounds, self-denial, desperate battles where one risks everything to save the other. Self-sacrifice is my bulletproof kink, as is loyalty/devotion, but I also love domestic fluff, like the sweetness of Shen Wei cooking for Zhao Yunlan, or Zhao Yunlan finding a way to take care of Shen Wei in turn, or the team coming up with a surprise for them. If you can manage domestic fluff with hidden knives (aka the Weilan Special) I would adore it. Or some handwavy post-canon happiness: a tiny fragment of their daily lives, a snapshot of their future. Maybe something from an outside POV?

If it wasn't clear enough from the above, I am smitten with Zhu Yilong. The combination of his unearthly good looks and his amazingly nuanced acting is like catnip to me. I have saved unreasonable amounts of videos, photos, commercials and the like, yet never enough, and I joined Guardian fandom late enough that I've been catching up ever since. Zhao Yunlan
Zhao Yunlan is a very complex character and I love him so much!! I love how smart and competent and intuitive and focused he is, despite being an absolute disaster at housekeeping and cooking and looking after himself. I love the way he was raised by cats (well, cat) in the way he lounges everywhere and in his conception of personal space (the way he drapes himself over all available surfaces - including Shen Wei when he thinks he can get away with it!!!). I love watching him make absolutely impossible but absolutely correct mental leaps because he's just that good. I love that he's a stone-cold perfect shot and I don't think there's enough made of the way he canonically just casually shoots people behind him without even looking - and he does it at least twice that I can recall (YOHE final battle, outside the SID when he gets briefly taken hostage). I love how despite his well crafted disreputable / casual mask he's actually incredibly competent and I love BAMF Zhao Yunlan :3

Shen Wei
I love Shen Wei, YOHE/bb Shen Wei, I love his suits, his robes, his sleeve garters, his pocket chain, the way you can tell whether he's Professor Shen or Heipaoshi just by the look on his face and the narrowing of his eyes. I love his competence, his intelligence, his power/grace/elegance, his Dixingren powers, the way he fights... ahhh BAMF Shen Wei is so good. I love that he was a child soldier and a hardened warlord but underneath the mask his gentle kind heart survived, just waiting for Kunlun to uncover it. I love how he loves - fiercely, completely, and with no take-backs. He's utterly devoted to Zhao Yunlan and it's clear in canon that he still loves Ye Zun, even after everything. I LOVE HIM :D

Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan
I love the way they had a snap-lock connection between them in both of their meet-cutes! Even when bb Shen Wei (with Kunlun) and modern Zhao Yunlan (with Professor Shen) don't know what's going on, the intensity of their connection is undeniable and still very present. I love the way they work seamlessly together, both pre- and post- identity reveal, and the way they commnicate almost instinctively when they're coordinating on something. I love the way Shen Wei does his cute little head-duck-smile, and the way he looks at Zhao Yunlan with ten thousand years of longing and devotion. I love the way they trust each other even when Zhao Yunlan has no reason to, but does it anyway. I love "who hurt you? I'll kill them", because Zhao Yunlan is every bit as fierce as Shen Wei is in protecting the one he loves. I love competence and trust and battle husbands, I love caretaking and looking after each other, and I love that they know each other, that they can see through each other's masks. I LOVE THEM

Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan/Ye Zun
I'm okay with Shen Wei/Ye Zun but only as a prelude/lead up to Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan/Ye Zun - Zhao Yunlan should be an essential part of their relationship please!
I've enjoyed reading fics exploring how Ye Zun would fit into Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan's relationship, both in YOHE and post-canon (or during canon in a canon-divergence AU). Give me communication, negotiation, complicated feelings about love and family and devotion and never abandoning each other ever again!

SID Team as Family
I love Zhao Yunlan & Da Qing and their relationship; they clearly love each other a lot and I love how it's clear that Da Qing is always Zhao Yunlan's cat only sometimes he's Haixingren shaped; I love how Shen Wei fits into their dynamic and becomes part of it. I love the SID Team being family, and supporting Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei through everything, no matter whether that's an invasion of Haixing, political machinations from the Ministry / Supervisory Office, or Zhao Xinci being an asshole.

Does Shen Wei start recognising teenage Zhao Yunlan as the Lord Guardian of Haixing? How does Zhao Xinci react? :D)

* Post-Canon fix-its - they said they were going to meet again, so they'll meet again for sure! Do they come back to life? How does Zhao Yunlan get out of the lantern without screwing Dixing over? Please show me their happy ending :3

I love Luo Fusheng with all my heart, and I wish he could have gotten a happier ending. You might have to plop him into an AU for that, because I'm not quite sure how you would salvage that ending, but if you can! By all means!

I think Tianying would have been good for him, but I'll also take any number of Bai Yu characters to give him a home. I'm partial to Han Chen after having been convinced of the ship by a dear friend, so I'd generally love to see more Hansheng in the world to make her happy too! Something about parts of his life that aren't about Zhao Yunlan. Chu Shuzhi and his immense loyalty to the Envoy and getting to know him as a person rather than a distant authority figure. Ye Zun's self-destructive quest of vengeance against entirely the wrong person and what might derail it, or the aftermath of their reconciliation. Da Qing and his missing/regained memories of his time with Kunlun and the young Envoy. Shen Wei and his academic colleagues. Ya Qing, Ya Qing/Zhu Hong: I'd love more about Ya Qing and what drives her, what fuelled her bad decisions, her last-minute realisation that led to her changing sides, and its aftermath. And I'd love to see more of how her story converges with Zhu Hong's as Zhu Hong comes into her own as Yashou High Chief, and how these two deal with each other. Getting to know each other, learning to work with/listen/trust each other. Finding themselves attracted, making choices about giving in to attraction - whether they fully trust each other yet or not. Anything that throws them together would be great. Haixingren in Dixing, or ordinary Dixing life, or how black energy works (Dixing science would be great!). Something about people returning to Dixing after living in Haixing for a long time, or even having grown up there (like Wu Xiaojun), whether they're taken back to Dixing by the Envoy or return due to other circumstances - what is it like for them? do they have a support group in Dixing? More about Dixing/Haixing relations pre-and post-canon. Something about the ancestors of Dixingren and Yashou and the spaceship they arrived in? I love the sci-fi aspect!

I'd particularly love some icons for this fandom! A group icon, or ones that can be used both as Detective L icons and in general to express moods or reactions. Textless or with text (including bilingual Chinese/English where it fits).

Luo Fei & Huo Wensi, Luo Fei/Huo Wensi: I love how weird Luo Fei is about Huo Wensi, and the reactions Huo Wensi brings out in him - and their dynamic doesn't even change after Dr Huo is in prison. Luo Fei is prickly and rude without apparent reason, distances himself during their interactions, but repeatedly puts considerable stock in Dr Huo's professional opinion. And Huo Wensi can't stop poking at Luo Fei. I'd love anything about them being weird and intense at and about each other. (My theory is that these two are exes who had a bad break-up!) 
Working together, backstory, having a moment during canon, ill-advised sex ... Huo Wensi being manipulative but interested, Luo Fei wanting to not be interested but not quite managing. Something post-canon - a redemption story? further push-and-pull between them? working together against Captain? Anything, so long as there's some genuine mutual connection there.

Luo Fei & Huo Wensi & Qin Xiaoman: Luo Fei and Huo Wensi are weird about each other, and Qin Xiaoman is stuck right in the middle. She's the one talking to Dr Huo when Luo Fei won't, and being almost-courted by Dr Huo. She trusts his good intentions, for the most part, but doesn't always accept his conclusions, and I'd love to see her perspective on everything, and how her presence affects any of the scenarios Luo Fei and Huo Wensi might find themselves in. Or what Dr Huo thinks about her! (Or how far he would have gone with the fake courting!)

Shipping: A mortal/immortal relationship would be awesome, whether with one of the women from the commercials (I'm particularly fond of the woman who doesn't show emotions in the 2020 commercial) or with a Bai Yu character (feel free to use any of them, or make up your own). Someone who's leading an ordinary life, or someone who's already immersed in the non-mundane. Angsty is good, but I'd prefer something not entirely dark? And reincarnation tropes would be awesome, e.g. the Time Engraver waiting for his lover's reincarnation, or finding them again and again across time.

Crossovers: I'd love a Guardian AU where Shen Wei is the Time Engraver rather than the Black-Cloaked Envoy! Bonus for incorporating the time loop (with thanks to <user name="laireshi"> for the brilliant idea) - what if, a long time ago in the past, the Time Engraver encountered someone who, impossibly, recognised him? And then that person vanished - but here he is again, except he doesn't know him yet ... Or a Detective L AU where Luo Fei, who really doesn't like mysteries he can't solve, is confronted with something that can't be solved with real-world logic? Or a fantasy AU where the Time Engraver's existence is generally known ... But any Bai Yu character is fair game here!

Fandom-specific DNWs: sub or exclusive bottom Luo Fusheng

Luo Fusheng/Luo Fei: Luo Fusheng can be a terrible person, but also has a giant soft streak. He's a jerk, and he's cruel, and he's violent, but if he cares about someone he'll do anything for them. He's also incredibly good at what he does. I want more of him (and him being a BAMF). I also adore Luo Fei - he's quick and smart; he can be a total mess - and he shares Luo Fusheng's ability to be abrasive as hell while also being incredibly sweet at times. They both really need someone to be good to them. I'd love them to find that in the most unlikely of places!

What situation might they meet in? What would it take for Luo Fei to trust someone with Luo Fusheng's background? Luo Fusheng is the sort of person to go all-in and never look back - how would Luo Fei deal with that? How could Luo Fusheng fit into the world of Detective L, or vice versa? Plot-wise, I'd also love Luo Fei and Luo Fusheng both discovering Captain's network from two very different directions/approaches, and ending up working together against Captain.

Feel free to lean into the tropes associated with criminal/detective ships, and the tension and balance between the characters. Some ideas: mutual cat-and-mouse games; working together against a common enemy; undercover operations and divided loyalties; criminal turning consultant or informer; redemption stories; detective turned vigilante; figuring out each other's soft spots.

For sex scenes, I prefer Luo Fusheng to top (or dom) if relevant, but switching is also good.

Thoughts/Prompts:

I completely adore all the dark underground tomb exploration stuff on this show, dangerous ancient traps and mechanisms, possibly-haunted artifacts, psychological horror, labyrinths, thunder and rain, rescue missions, competence porn, etc., and would be delighted with Tomb Shenanigans in any form. :D  Mission fic, or a spooky drabble in a rainstorm, or some quiet shared moment in the van on the way back from a tomb raid, or someone saving Wu Xie from his usual indifference to self-preservation...

I love the Iron Triangle. <3 I also love Wu Erbai and Liu Sang, and for additional or background characters, I'm quite fond of pretty much everyone who ended up on Wu Xie's haphazardly-assembled team(s) in S2.

ALSO, the hurt/comfort and platonic intimacy tropes on this show are truly beyond anything, and more of that would be amazing. All the domestic stuff at Wushanju and during the Warehouse 11 sequence, Pangzi putting blankets on Wu Xie, carrying him, both of them sleeping against each other’s shoulders all the damn time, canonical Iron Triangle huddling for warmth... and of course, everyone being a BAMF basically 100% the time whether they’re injured or not, protecting each other, hiding their injuries from each other, getting very pissed off about it when they find out... I’m very much here for all of this.

There are some hurt/comfort prompts for Wu Xie & Wang Pangzi in my <a href="http://www.onlyfiction.net/letters/letter_hc2022.html#tltr">H/C Exchange letter</a>, but I should note that although all my requests there are for hurt Wu Xie, I am also 100% here for other characters being hurt instead/too, or angsting or having nightmares, etc. — maybe especially Pangzi. <3 (He talks big but I feel like he spends a lot of time kind of treating himself like he's just Wu Xie's sidekick, and I love seeing how Wu Xie reacts when he realizes that, or when something happens to Pangzi, e.g. Wu Xie binding Pangzi's leg and carrying him after he tries to hide the fact that he's injured, or the restrained emotional h/c stuff after they find out about Piaopiao).

I'm mostly pulling these ideas from past letters, and I don't have any specific prompts prepared for Wu Erbai or Liu Sang, but I love the mingled affection and antagonism in Wu Xie and Wu Erbai's relationship, and the antagonism-turned-friendship between Pangzi and Liu Sang.  I also love Liu Sang's auditory mapping abilities and the fact that he learns the knocking language.  Anything you want to do with any of that, during or post-canon, would be excellent. :D

I have a particular fondness for Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan fic set in the first half of the show (identity porn, ZYL's suspicion and flirting, their cat-and-mouse games, no one has any boundaries!), though established relationship probably works better later on. And I prefer Chu Shuzhi/Guo Changcheng fic to be set a bit later, once Changcheng has found his feet (I prefer the age and experience gaps to be balanced/mitigated somewhat). I love Ye Olde Haixing Era, and positive takes on post-canon Dixing (canon-compliance, fix-its, or handwavy AUs). Envoy reveals for people other than Zhao Yunlan. Hallows-instigated shenanigans.

I especially love fanworks that engage with canon and the characters motivations and strengths/weaknesses. Zhao Yunlan being competent in the workplace and a disaster at home, burying his self-worth issues under a ton of glib charm and boundary-crossing. Shen Wei being stubborn and sure of himself, kind, aching at his core, never 100% belonging either in Haixing or Dixing but gradually finding a family with Zhao Yunlan and the SID. Da Qing being both very cat and very loyal. Chu Shuzhi being a gruff secret marshmallow, with similar "belonging" issues to Shen Wei but a ton more self-denial. Changcheng finding friendship and affection at the SID and increasingly straddling two worlds: the very respectable high-status household of his uncle and aunt, and the cheerfully casual and diverse, hidden-from-the-public environment at work. Etc!

Zhao Yunlan is my favourite! I'm very into his calculated casual/scruffy/faux bad boy aesthetic. (Please don't tidy him up, even temporarily!) I love the lollipops, too. And I love how determined he is to protect everyone, from his team to random strangers on the street/in a hospital. How his interactions with Shen Wei and Guo Changcheng's example make him examine his prejudices, and he quickly expands his idea of justice and who deserves protection. I love his friendship with Da Qing, lounging around, teasing, listening to and trusting each other. And he's great at turning a problem into an advantage (eg, Cong Bo) and two-birds-with-one-stone solutions.

My feelings about Shen Wei include: that being the Envoy and being Dixingren are important, integral parts of him. That he cares deeply about the fate of Dixing and the world. (I'm very "why not both?" about his Envoy and Professor identities, including in post-canon AUs; I think he enjoys having duties (= a way to make a difference) and responsibilities (= a place to fit in and be needed), rather than seeing them as unwanted burdens.) I'm also really interested in the ways he has assimilated into Haixing society and, conversely, the subtle ways he might have resisted assimilating. What small cultural things does he stubbornly retain from his youth (and does Zhao Yunlan (or Chu Shuzhi, or Guo Changcheng, or Da Qing) notice?)? How does his identity colour his view of ordinary Haixing things? What is up with him and technology? I see him as stubborn, strategic, principled and pragmatic, conscious of his own power (dark energy and social), kind, self-contained but not shy, ruthless-when-necessary, and sometimes sweet.

I'm always here for Iron Triangle. I particularly enjoy it when they get themselves into genuine trouble. This can be one of them getting hurt, and it's a race to get the injured person to the hospital while the other two are snapping each other, or it could be them having a big argument about something (could be something really stupid!) and then they have to sort it out with their non-existent communication skills. I would even read fic about them breaking up, but only if it's a catalyst for them working out some relationship boundaries (and so getting back together). I would love fic about Piaopiao surviving and Pangzi having to explain the polycule thing to her when Wu Xie also doesn't die at the end of the show. Essentially, for the Iron Triangle or Iron Triangle + Piaopiao, I would love anything that has them working out relationship boundaries.

For Wu Xie and Huo Daofu, I'm curious about Huo Daofu's POV, and what exactly he's thinking during s2 of the show. There's history there; what is it? Does he ever speak to Pangzi and/or Xiaoge about it? Maybe in one of the scenes where it seems almost certain that Wu Xie's going to die? (I would see Wu Xie's and Huo Daofu's relationship as something that either happened in the past during Xiaoge's absence, or as something that's happening alongside a Wu Xie/Pangzi/Xiaoge relationship.)

For vids, I would love a Pangzi vid. Make me a Pangzi vid! Failing that, I also just enjoy anything about the Iron Triangle and their friendship. I have many feelings about them. Can be happy or sad, I'm good with either!

For art, I would love some D/s Wu Xie/Huo Daofu art with Huo Daofu as dominant (explicitly sexual or just kinky, either is fine). Besides that, all Iron Triangle art is always welcome, explicit or SFW (or Iron Triangle + Piaopiao!). I'm especially fond of the Wushanju set, so Wushanju featuring is a bonus. I'd also take art just of Wushanju! Their giant garden, for example, or the courtyard! I love that set.

Fandom: Guardian

I have few specific fic desires in this fandom currently, but here's one: Zhao Yunlan struggling with something that he absolutely brought on himself and that is creating massive amounts of pressure on him. Maybe his messy paperwork catches up with him and he suddenly finds himself being investigated for embezzling funds when he just forgot to file receipts for a year. I'd like to know how he and Shen Wei would handle that sort of thing. Shen Wei is great in a fight, and he's very protective of Zhao Yunlan, and I think he'd struggle with a situation where he can't intimidate the people giving Zhao Yunlan a hard time into backing off -- and shouldn't, because Zhao Yunlan genuinely fucked up. I think he'd also struggle with the emotional guilt-tripping that Haixing bureaucracy (and Zhao Yunlan's dad) would engage in if anything like this happened, because on the one hand, Zhao Yunlan did fuck up, but on the other, they're making Zhao Yunlan really sad, and that's not okay! Essentially I'd love to read a cage match between Shen Wei's black-and-white ethics and his dedication to making sure that Zhao Yunlan is happy and respected by all, and also Zhao Yunlan's desire to impress Shen Wei versus the guilt issues his dad installed in him about being kind of a mess.

For vids, there's a <a href="https://archiveofourown.org/works/31909825/chapters/79017472">Lex Luthor vid to Potential Break-up Song by sisabet</a> which is fantastic (you should watch it!). I would love to see a Ye Zun vid to this song!

Anything. ANYTHING with Chen Moqun, as long as he gets to be snarky and cynical and comes out alive. I love him so much. I like him with Lin Nansheng, though I don't love explicit stuff for that pairing earlier in the timeline -- happy to read them later on, though, when Lin Nansheng has grown up, explicit or not. I like Chen Moqun with Lan Xinjie, especially in the beginning of the show -- this is mostly headcanon, but I read them as having a very professional-friendly relationship with mutual respect and well-defined boundaries, so I'd love to read something about that.

For vids, please make me a Chen Moqun vid. He just makes so many good faces! This could literally just be a face compilation, or it could be a character study, or it could be a CMQ/LNS shipping vid from Chen Moqun's POV.

For art -- again, Chen Moqun smirking will make me happy. Chen Moqun absolutely slaying in drag would be fantastic. You can't go wrong with Chen Moqun. The only thing I don't want here is explicit Chen Moqun/Lan Xinjie art with Chen Moqun being visibly dominant (other explicit art of the listed pairings fine and welcome!).

How does Xun Xu recover/deal with everything that happened in the show? How does he settle into his new environment/job description? Do his injuries still affect him, and how does he deal with that?

I'm recently in a very crossover mood, so if fic I'd very much like only crossovers (not AU settings, but crossovers with characters from both universes). I am delighted for Qin Xiaoman or any of the other characters to appear in a story, if you write one for me, but would like any of the requested fanworks including fan fiction you might make for me to be clearly focused on Luo Fei, Ben Jie Ming, Luo Fei/Ben Jie Ming or Luo Fei & Ben Jie Ming. I also love the setting for this series, lovingly portrayed 1930s Shanghai in the French concession.

In terms of icons, I'm badly in need of such for this series and Luo Fei has such an expressive face that I think it might be fun for an icon maker to play with and I'd definitely be open to cracky ones just as much as ones that just depict the general loveliness of Luo Fei and/or Ben Jie Ming.

1) Ben Jie Ming has tried to tell Luo Fei how he feels about him but Luo Fei never seems to get the hint. Perhaps Ben Jie Ming has been expressing it in his own special way... or vice versa.

2) Ben Jie Ming tells Sha Wei and even Ye Chang Qing about his decision to leave Shanghai. It's only when he tells Qin Xiao Man that Luo Fei takes it seriously and wants to know why. Perhaps Ben Jie Ming doesn't want to witness Luo Fei 's deepening 'relationship' with Qin Xiao Man?

3) When did they meet and under what circumstances? Why did this friendship persist? Why does it become something more?

4) Ben Jie Ming is keeping a secret from Luo Fei. He's determined to find out what it is but will curiosity 'kill' the detective?

5) Luo Fei is very protective of Ben Jie Ming due to his lack of social skills and friends other than himself and that's all there is to it. At least that's what he keeps telling himself until Ben Jie Ming forms a new relationship/starts dating someone else or at least appears to do so.
