Pairings: I’m primarily interested in Weilan, but don’t mind other ships showing up in the background. Weilanzun is fair play, though I prefer the emphasis on Weilan+Lanzun than on the twincest! I would also love genfic with platonic relationships (Zhao Yunlan & Da Qing, SID ensemble, Zhao Yunlan & his father, Shen Wei & An Bai, Zhu Hong & the Yashou, etc.)
Prompts:
Memes: I would love both, memes within the Guardian universe (e.g. memes the DCU students make about Professor Shen, internal SID memes, things like that) or our memes but with Guardian characters or related to Guardian content (e.g. that boyfriend staring after girl meme while girlfriend looks at him askance). I love puns and wordplay of any kind, too, so go nuts :D
Icons: I’m looking for Weilan (looking soft, flirting, or badass), Shen Wei (preferably in blue suit or vest, looking soft or exasperated), Zhu Hong (prefered outfits are the red dress, the knitted dress, cream suit, leather jacket, black top with should cut-outs; with or without red eyes), Lin Jing (looking surprised or ready to take notes), Da Qing, or SID team shots

Re: podfics, any of my works are fair game. Alternatively, anything I've bookmarked on my Ao3 account would be fun to receive a podfic of, too, provided the author has a permission statement somewhere :)
DNWs: attributing everything good in the Zhao father-son relationship to Zhang Shi. I prefer things to be complex and complicated :) (also, please no breaking up for Weilan! As a temporary misunderstanding, yes, but not permanently and with a happy resolution please), no reincarnation fic post-canon (novel-blend instead of time travel is ok!)

- Hong-jie’s fashion advice (and potentially make-over for the SID team? Imagine Zhu Hong, Da Qing and CSZ sitting there as the jury, judging Wang Zheng, Lin Jing and Guo Changcheng. Professor Shen gets top marks. Zhao Yunlan… doesn’t and is mock-outraged
- I’m a fan of epistolary stuff – fake social media, excerpts from that book on Kunlun/YOHE history, excerpts from Shen Wei’s research, DCU forum discussions, Shen Wei’s old love letters/poetry, Da Qing entering a Best Fat Cat contest, text messages, etc.
- ANYTHING about Ye Zun’s phantom of the opera outfit when he visits the Ministry all Shakespeare villain
- Weilan holding a baby. Or a toddler. Just, one of them holding a tiny kid and the other looking all gut-punched at the other. Domestic baby fluff softness.
- Chinese linguistics! I would love your thoughts on the theoretical name of a relative to one of the characters (like, if Lin Jing had a sister, ZYL had a kid, Fourth Uncle’s potential name) based on the character name and elements and Chinese naming conventions :D

Author's note: A sesqui-drabble remix of A Blade of Grass by missingnowrites, in response to the inviting prompt, " Transformative works based on any of my fics are always a neat surprise!"
In the apparatus to the original work, the author links to a list of proverbs and explains how they drew the work's title from one of them. I found my title in another one of the proverbs on the same list: "The heart of a 君子 [ideal Confucian gentleman] cares not about his own (selfish) desires, but of all that it encompasses from his breadth of heart." It made me think of Shen Wei's appreciation of the virtues of loyalty and selflessness beneath Chu Shuzhi's rough exterior.
You flip through dusty prison records for hours. You don't know what you're looking for, but you'll know it when you see it.
This one. This is it.
Not because of his family name, although you remember the first of that family, ten thousand years ago, learning to master their distinctive power.
Not because of the motive for his crime, although your heart aches in sympathy when you read of the grief and guilt he felt over the loss of his younger twin.
No. It's because of the transcript of his trial. They asked him why he didn't try to get away when the police came to arrest him. He replied that he didn't want his brother, looking upon him from the afterlife, to be ashamed of him. By accepting his punishment instead, he could atone for his crimes.
That's when you decide that Chu Shuzhi will be the one.
