General Likes: Monster characteristics coming out and characters grappling with monster characteristics. This includes youchu/Gui.
Zhao Yunlan has the line about how destiny doesn't mean you can't do anything else, but that given who you are, you will likely take that path. It's like game theory with preferences rather than strict destiny.
I massively love discussions of and revolution in stuff I read. But revolution that involved the underpinnings of society being changed, rather than just the leadership, be it economic or otherwise: in a universe of cultivation to immortality, the immortal mountains and immortality itself being dissolved as an option; in a Black Sails fic, them actually starting the Atlantic Revolutions 50 years early; in Guardian, the Ghost Tribe/Gui get access to the Wheel of Reincarnation, which is rebuilt.
I also really enjoy merging things and mythologies across works and seeing how that makes things work.
General DNWs:
Omegaverse
Wingfic where the character doesn't originally have wings (the crow tribe can absolutely have wings, for example)
Morality shifts of characters who absolutely did the thing they are being accused of by deleting the event or saying it wasn't them who did it. - justification from their perspective is fine. extenuating circumstances are fine as well.
No Jesus. No Christian demons.
Fandom: Guardian - novelverse
Guardian likes: I'm much bigger on worldbuilding and don't really base my fic searches on whether there is a pairing or not. I am also fine with ambiguous pairings or pairings where they don't know what they are to each other. That being said, I am always fine with whatever Weilan are to each other: they live in each other's soul. Literally.
I really like the whole youchu and gui being soulless and being literally made of the three corpses/worms of Buddhism thing. I prefer Shen Wei with the line where he threatens to eat the eyes of everyone who has seen Zhao Yunlan sans clothing. (I even more like that that gets Zhao Yunlan to stop for the time being.) I also like the fact that Shen Wei, despite being like that, is one of the most moral teachers in the school and to the SIU too.
I also really like Gui Mian as a character. He is the character who most rankles under the unfairness and wants to be equal with Shen Wei. I would like to see Gui Mian react to the news where someone is being particularly of the three corpses/worms (greed, ignorance and hatred) with a "we didn't act that bad and we were literally made of that." Or Gui Mian get besouled and what he does with that and his sense of unfairness.
Another idea: Shennong's Bowl either meeting up for tea with Shen Wei before - potentially leading to hate-sex but doesn't have to. Or potentially leading to a possible reason Shennong's Bowl doesn't have a body of his own... because Shen Wei absolutely broke that bowl when he was younger. Shennong's Bowl watching Shen Wei grow up, but due to Shen Wei having revealed his ghost tribe-ness early on, or potentially running to him in tears after Shen San, Shennong's Bowl not trusting him.
DNW: In addition to my general DNWs:
Drama characterization of Gui Mian.
Drama characterization of Papa Zhao.
Dead Empress. Mama Zhao is alive and well in current day timeline. (If you do many years post canon, Zhao Yunlan's parents dying is fine, and Zhao Yunlan coming to terms with their death (probably also involving a visit to Difu to make sure they are put through properly) is also fine.)
Fandom: Guardian novelverse x Guardian RPF
Prompt: due to something happening, the entire cast of the Guardian drama slowly gain their novelverse counterparts' ability/what they are. This goes better for some of them than others.
Could be Bai Yu x Zhu Yilong or not!
Fandom: Guardian novelverse x Mo Du
Potential prompt: Fei "I am the Abyss" Du meets and Zhan Hun Shi Shen Wei and gets Shen Wei's version of a hug. And Zhao Yunlan and Luo Wenzhou meet up and probably compare departments (also, what if their moms met up!) (Also Guo Changcheng and Xiao Haiyang or Zhu Hong and Lang Qiao meeting up)
