Dead mom. Mama Zhao "The Empress" is still very much alive and well!
Gui Mian | Ghost Face being called Ye Zun. - in the novel, they have a very different relationship than in the drama.
Prompts/ideas:
- Shen Wei has to get used to being a god and having soul-fires now. (While getting used to his parents-in-law.)
- Gui Mian managed to get yoinked out of chaos as well, or crawls back from it after a time. And now he also has to deal with having soul-fires, and his three corpses/worms having diminished.
- Does Zhao Yunlan | Kunlun still try and fail to cook dumplings with his mom?
- Mama Zhao and Papa Zhao have questions about what is going on with things. Up to you what those things are, but where the answer is likely related to Zhao Yunlan's Kunlun-ing it up - including anything from: "the plants outside my office all started blooming and growing all at once! Isn't your bureau supposed to deal with out of the ordinary stuff like that?" reason: Zhao Yunlan has a cold and it's making his powers go a little haywire. To: "we keep getting the prettiest potted plants and other weirder gifts from somebody. Who keeps giving them to us?" answer: the shifters, Difu, etc all trying to get in good with Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei.
- Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei decide to get married. What does that look like and how does that work? Aka who acts as Shen Wei's relatives? What goes on with all the Shifters and Difu and everyone trying to get an invite? Who runs interference/how do they keep Mama and Papa Zhao from finding out who their son and his fiance are, given all the politics of Kunlun-jun and Zhan Hun Shi getting married?
- Shen Wei's memory removal backfired a bit.
- Papa Zhao does remember more than he lets on. (Or, fic where he taught Zhao Yunlan how to use technology to catch someone, ofc he's been monitoring himself for years)
- Mama Zhao knows more than she's letting on.
- Zhu Hong is potentially a Nuwa reincarnation.
- Gui Mian had a kid. Now that the Great Seal is unlocked, that kid comes to find his uncle. There is an adjustment period to even being not behind the Seal anymore.
- A prior Kunlun incarnation and Zhan Hun Shi interact: we find out at one point that Shen Wei gave him the watch in Republican era China. What was that like? Or any others where Zhan Hun Shi was known to that Kunlun reincarnation.
Fandom: Daomu Biji Chongqi/Reboot drama and novel(and Sha Hai as its portrayed in Daomu Biji Chongqi)
Characters: Wu Xie, Xiaoge, Pangzi, Hei Xiazi, Xie Yuchen, etc. characters specifically from Chongqi too.
DNW: Liu Sang to be in a relationship with Xiaoge and/or Wu Xie.
Prompts/ideas:
1. So we get the neck scar in the intro to Chongqi! But that is from novel Sha Hai (the drama didn't include that scene) and the novel infamously ends right after that so we don't find out how Wu Xie survived that or anything! Do you have any theories?
1a. Bonus heart-eyes, if it involves something related to what the Jiumen did to themselves as shown in the Chongqi novel.
1b. Even more bonus heart-eyes if it makes the Wangjiaren that Wu Xie goes up against in Chongqi back away from him for that reason, on top of the canon reason of he handed their organization's asses to them and scattered them to the wind.
2. Speaking of Wangjiaren, how does our beloved Wu Xie - supposedly Tian Zhen once more - react to the Wangjiaren now that Xiaoge's back? Both given his guilt over very much not having been Tian Zhen for Ten Years there and with what the Wangjiaren wanted to do to Zhang Qiling and the Bronze Gate before. We see a few glimpses of his fear at the Wangjiaren having been hired by what's-his-face, but is he also worried about them potentially revealing to Xiaoge and Pangzi how not-No Evil he was?
3. Speaking of what the Jiumen did to themselves as shown in the novel, potential crossover/fusion with Guardian novelverse! Did the Jiumen find a way to become part Ghost Tribe - and pass that down to Wu Xie? (So that if Shen Wei or Zhao Yunlan see him, there will be a moment of "Why do you look like Gui Mian???" - also, it would certainly explain the doubt that Wu Sanshu actually died if Wu Sanshu was partially ghost tribe ghost)
4. Any other potential fusion/crossover with Guardian novelverse, including potentially Bronze Gate = Houtu's Great Seal or Gutongjing = another entrance to the Profane Lands (another reason Wu Xie might have become part ghost tribe ghost if he went there repeatedly and uhh snake venom worked on him) or Qinling Sacred Tree = Tree of Virtue outside Profane Lands (yet another reason Wu Xie might have become part ghost tribe ghost and might look like Shen Wei and Gui Mian)

I'm not very far into the novel yet though (just finished the sundial arc), so I didn't trust myself to be able to write anything for you without accidentally mangling canon. So instead I decided to draw something, as that felt safer xD I went off of the 'characters being/becoming monsters etc.' thing in your general likes, which sounder super cool to me, and I drew you a little portrait of our lovely (icy) Zhan Hun Shi, with a twist :) I hope you'll like it!
