Hi! Thanks for asking. This is a change AO3 made site-wide - all new works default to that setting, and you have to manually change it if you want everyone to be able to comment. (It's to do with spam protection, as explained in this AO3 news post from just before they changed it.) So unfortunately we can't do anything about it.
