General Likes: Didn’t know they were dating, fake married/dating, love confessions, soulmates, wingfic, hanahaki (happy ending only), expressing love via specific love languages, non sexual intimacy, hurt/comfort
General DNWs: omega-verse, unhappy endings, most AUs (hs/college/coffee shop/depowere/etc), hurt with no comfort, established relationship, homophobia ruining familial relationships
Fandom: Guardian 2018 (I have never read the book, so I’m specifically the show)
Fandom specific likes: No one dies lol. I’m not picky if it’s just handwaved away, like yeah the end didn’t happen that way and it’s not important how it didn’t happen or seriously fixing the world that was super broken by SW and ZYL dying.
My preferred ship for the fandom is CSZ/GCC, but I’m also a total sucker for the main pairing. My preferred read of CSZ/GCC is that they aren’t together at the end of the series (as GCC’s aunt and uncle are sending him out on a date), but it’s pretty obvious that at least CSZ is head over heels for him. I love them as a “didn’t know we were dating” as well as just taking care of each other. It’s all so wonderful. And hidden soulmates would also be lovely.
For SW/ZYL, I actually like their relationship as sort of frozen because of their lives and the plot. They’re aware that the other loves him (especially after YOHE), but they just can’t cross that line into a real relationship that involves more than Significant glances and sometimes handholding. I love that as the tragedy of what happened, that even though they were in love, they didn’t get to be together.
I’m a sucker, too, for how Da Qing fits into their lives because he’s a cat who happens to sometimes live on two feet (gross). I also love team as a family. I like all these characters as BAMFs. Like yes, whump happens, but by the end of the show, even GCC can moderately kick ass.
And the show plays so fast and lose with what’s happening at any given moment, there could be random Magic Reasons that CSZ or SW get hurt!
I’m also so so soft for someone washing their love interest and cleaning their wounds. 🥺
