Story title: Sips link to AO3 Author: Amedia Fandom: Guardian (drama) Rating: PG Characters: Shen Wei, Kunlun Summary: Shen Wei will awaken when his beloved Kunlun--and his delicious blood--return to the world. Word Count: 200 Author's note: A brief response to hybridphoenix's prompt "Shen Wei as vampire with feelings (e.g. relating to the passage of time)."
Kunlun tasted so warm, so alive. Shen Wei was careful to restrict himself to tiny sips, never enough to turn Kunlun, never enough to harm him. His agonizing self-denial gave him Kunlun and his sweet fresh blood in his bed every night.
Until Kunlun was swept away, and Shen Wei could only cling to the promise that they would meet again.
After the next battle, Shen Wei raged through their wounded enemies, draining them dry, seeking the satiation he had denied himself for so long. But their blood was bitter, and his own men now feared him.
So he called upon a magical spell—ancient even then—and cast himself into a deep unwaking sleep that would last until he sensed Kunlun's blood resurfacing in the world. He would wait, he would prepare, learn the ways of the new world and find himself an appropriate position. Twenty or thirty years after his awakening, he would set out to find his lover again. He would succeed. If necessary, he would woo him all over again. And as much as he longed more than ever for that sweet warm blood, he knew, once again, that he would restrict himself to tiny sips.
